Ray Atkinson’s Weekend – Catch Up, Win Vintage Vinyl & Support Prostate Cancer UK

It’s been another busy weekend with Ray Atkinson on Caravan Radio, with two mornings packed with great music, caravan and motorhome chat, a little head-scratching and, of course, Ray’s regular weekend features.

If you missed either Saturday or Sunday’s show, don’t worry – both are available to listen again on Catch Up.

Saturday – another Auto joins Origins of an Icon

We’ve already featured Auto-Sleepers and Auto-Trail, but this weekend Ray’s Origins of an Icon turned its attention to another famous name beginning with Auto.

Did you manage to work out which one?

Ray’s Weekend Hack was all about thinking ahead and being prepared before you head off on your next trip.

And while we were thinking ahead, Ray also headed to Cornwall – at least in spirit – with details of a three-day pirate festival worth putting in the diary if pirates are your thing!

Sunday – Goodin, Drippin & Soakin?!

Sunday brought another of those stories that could really only come from Ray.

Goodin, Drippin & Soakin.

Apparently, three Glasgow brothers took inspiration from another rather famous set of brothers – the Brothers Gibb – and used their own surname to come up with the name of their band.

As Ray would say: “It’s true, I’m a DJ – I wouldn’t lie to you!”

If you want to discover who they became – or just hear it all again – Sunday’s show is waiting for you on Catch Up.

Win The Eurythmics’ Be Yourself Tonight on vintage vinyl 💿

After taking a break last weekend, our Album of the Weekend competition is back, and this week there’s a vintage vinyl copy of Eurythmics’ Be Yourself Tonight up for grabs.

The competition is also supporting a cause particularly close to Ray.

Following his own treatment for prostate cancer earlier this year, Ray has been taking on a cycling challenge throughout August to raise money for Prostate Cancer UK. The charity funds research and provides information and support for men and their families affected by prostate cancer.

Thanks to the support of Highland Campervans and Vinyl 2 Vintage, everyone who donates to Ray’s fundraising page has the chance to be entered into the weekly draw to win our Album of the Weekend on vintage vinyl.

Want to be in with a chance of winning this week’s album?

👉 Donate to Ray’s Prostate Cancer UK fundraiser via JustGiving.

Then settle back and catch up with Ray’s weekend shows on Caravan Radio. The station’s current schedule has Ray on both Saturday and Sunday mornings.
