Caravan Radio is delighted to welcome bestselling author, campervan adventurer and lifelong camper Martin Dorey to the station with his brand-new show, Take the Slow Road.
The show airs every Saturday from 1pm until 2pm, bringing listeners inspiring road trips, travel stories and plenty of ideas for exploring the UK and Europe by campervan or motorhome.
Martin is a writer, surfer and serial campervan owner. After beginning his career in the film industry as an assistant director, he became a full-time writer in 2002.
His first book, The Campervan Cookbook, was published in 2009 and later became the BBC television series One Man and His Campervan.
Martin has since written several bestselling books, including The Campervan Bible and the popular Take the Slow Road series.
The travel guides combine carefully selected road trips with inspiring writing, beautiful photography and recommendations for places to stop along the way. The series has already explored Scotland, England and Wales, France, Spain and Portugal.
Martin also presents videos for the Caravan and Motorhome Club and is a judge for its Campervan and Motorhome Design Awards.
Take the Slow Road brings Martin’s passion for campervan travel to the radio, with stories, destinations and inspiration for anyone who believes the journey can be just as enjoyable as the destination.
